Modified MK7 GTI: A Track Day Monster Built by JR14

JR14 is a car enthusiast who has been working on his Project MK7 Volkswagen Golf GTI with the goal of turning it into a track-ready machine. In his latest video, JR14 takes his modified MK7 GTI out to Fastivus 2022 for another track day to do some more testing, particularly with the new Porsche Macan brakes he recently installed. However, things didn't go quite as planned, as he almost crashed the car while on the track.

Exterior Modifications - JR14's Project MK7 GTI has undergone a number of exterior modifications to improve its appearance and performance on the track. The car features a sleek and aggressive body kit with a front splitter, side skirts, and a rear diffuser. The car also has a large rear wing to improve downforce and a set of lightweight forged wheels wrapped in high-performance tires.

Interior Modifications - To prepare the car for track use, JR14 has made a number of interior modifications as well. The car features a set of racing seats with harnesses to keep the driver securely in place during high-speed driving. The steering wheel has been swapped out for a smaller, more sporty unit for better control, and the stock shifter has been replaced with a short-throw shifter for quicker gear changes.

Performance Modifications - Under the hood, JR14 has made a number of performance modifications to improve the car's power and handling. The car features a cold air intake and a high-flow exhaust system to improve airflow and increase horsepower. The suspension has been upgraded with a set of coilovers to improve handling and reduce body roll. And, as mentioned earlier, JR14 has recently installed a set of Porsche Macan brakes to improve the car's stopping power on the track.

Fastivus 2022 Track Day - At Fastivus 2022, JR14 took his Project MK7 GTI out onto the track to test out his new Porsche Macan brakes and see how the car performed. Unfortunately, things didn't go quite as planned, as JR14 almost crashed the car while on the track. However, the car's upgraded brakes and suspension allowed him to quickly recover and avoid a collision.

JR14's Project MK7 VW Golf GTI is an impressive example of a track-ready build that combines both style and performance. With a number of exterior, interior, and performance modifications, the car is a true enthusiast's dream. While the track day at Fastivus 2022 didn't go quite as planned, the car's upgrades allowed JR14 to avoid a potentially dangerous situation and continue testing his modifications. We look forward to seeing what he does with the car next!
